Kscope is a singularly unique event in Oracle user group conferences. One reason is our signature Community Service Day project, where Kscope attendees give back to the community we are visiting.
This year, ODTUG has partnered with Haven for Hope in its mission of radical compassion, driven by hope, to move people from a feeling of worthlessness to the pursuit of excellence. Haven for Hope provides drug treatment, job training, education, medical services, and so much more all on one campus. Through their programs, individuals driven to better their own lives can confidently move from homelessness to full employment and stability in their lives.
Kscope attendees will have several options to help at Haven for Hope: activities such as meal preparation, campus beatification, sleeping mat care, helping in the free store, serving coffee, and playing bingo with the Courtyard residents.
If you want to join Kscope in giving back to this truly amazing organization, sign up today! Space is limited.
SUPPORT ODTUG COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY
Haven for Hope depends on generous individuals and community-minded companies to fund its programs and serve its residents. Haven for Hope staff members are needed to assist in the onsite organization of the ODTUG Kscope17 Community Service Day project; food is needed to keep our volunteers energized, and transportation costs need to be covered.
No donation is too small!
Companies or individuals donating more than $300 by May 15, 2017, will have their names or logos placed on the back of the official ODTUG Community Service Day T-shirt.

Haven for Hope is a place for new beginnings for people in Bexar County who are experiencing homelessness. It is made up of two major programs: the Courtyard and the Transformational Campus.
The Courtyard is a low-barrier safe outdoor sleeping program that offers shelter and basic needs. Guests receive meals, communal showers, laundry, basic medical care and mental health care, and other basic services.
The Transformational Campus is a center that offers services and shelter with an emphasis toward addressing the root causes of homelessness. An individual or family may go here to receive housing, education, counseling, and support to help transform his or her life. The goal is to help individuals gain and keep permanent housing.
What kind of activities will there be at Community Service Day?
There will be both indoor and outdoor activities for all skill levels; this will be a project that truly anyone can participate in.
